The current research was conducted with the aim of the relationship between environmental protection behaviors and the mediating role of professional ethics in athletes. The research method was descriptive-correlation studies based on structural equations. The statistical population of the research was made up of all the athletes, who were selected as a sample based on the multi-stage cluster random sampling method based on the unlimited population size and according to Morgan's table. In order to collect information, questionnaires of professional ethics and environmental protection behaviors of Kaiser (1999) were used. The reliability of the questionnaires was found to be 0.854 and 0.832, respectively, based on Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Data analysis was done through Pearson test and structural equations with AMOS software. According to the results of the Pearson correlation test, there is a significant positive relationship between professional ethics and environmental protection behaviors (Sig=0.001, r=0.714). Also, the results of structural equations showed that the mediation of professional ethics has a significant positive effect on the environmental protection behaviors of athletes.

Tourism and sport are considered one of the largest industries in the modern world, one of the most amazing services in the world, called Sports Tourism, and has many people around the world (Ayami Rad, 2010: 52). Sport tourism is considered one of the fastest sectors of tourism and has created a very strong competition among countries due to high incomes. Different countries are considering attracting this kind of tourism considering the type of tourism in the region and providing better facilities. . In this regard, the city of Tabriz is regarded as one of the most important provinces of the country due to its strategic location, such as having common areas with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Nakhchivan and Turkey. Climate diversity and topography with different perspectives (mountains, plains and deserts) have made this province one of the most important poles with a high potential for tourism and sport tourism in 2018, as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the 9th Conference of Ministers of Tourism of Islamic Countries Selected Tabriz as the Capital of Tourism of the Islamic Countries in 2018. Obtaining this title for the city of Tabriz and the country of Iran provides an opportunity due to the existence of various historical and historical monuments and tourism, as well as various indigenous and local sports and a long history of these sports by introducing these potential fields. Provides development of tourism and sport tourism by expanding national and international interactions. Sports that do not require much facilities and at the lowest cost can be provided by various people (children, youth, adults and even elderly) due to the many attractions that it has in the form of festivals, competitions and sports events, The tourists will attract a lot of sports from different cities, even by creating necessary platforms from different parts of the world to these festivals and competitions. Tourism is an important industry in almost every region of the planet. It touches the lives of most of the world’s population, employing numerous workers and contributing considerable percent of the global GDP. Tourism has long been identified as a powerful tool for development, spurring economic growth, increasing foreign exchange, smallholder investment, and local employment. As increasing the importance of developing the tourism sector to facilitate the achievement of economic development, attention to different attractions of tourism such as sports tourism has increased in recent decades. Sport tourism as main part of tourism sector has attracted growing concern from in relation to multiple aspects, such as sustainable development and diversification of the national economy. To address these concerns, it is necessary to investigate planning for sport tourism development. It is widely acknowledged that planning is crucial to successful sport tourism development and management; and planning has been a widely adopted principle in sport tourism development at both regional and national. As such, experts suggest strategic planning can be considered in the planning process; and a strategic plan be practically made for this purpose. Current research aimed to investigate the role of role of infrastructures of Arasbaran area, East-Azerbaijan in the development of sports tourism and formulate appropriate strategies for improvement and greater use of the region''''s tourist attractions.
