IntroductionPistachio, like many subtropical fruit trees, need a cold period in their annual cycle to allow the buds to bloom naturally after the right conditions are in place. There are several models to calculate the chilling needs of pistachio, of which the chilling hours model, Utah and Utah positive are the most important of these models. The studied geographical area is Yazd-Ardakan plain located in Yazd province.Materials and methodsIn this study, according to statistical tests based on meteorological variables, the chilling hours model was selected for modeling. To conduct this research, three-hour temperature data of Yazd Synoptic Station during the statistical period of 1367-1396 were used to model and estimate the total monthly chilling hours of pistachio and The daily temperature data of this station during the statistical period of 1961-2005 were used for the SDSM model and the monthly temperature statistics of the years 1385-1397 were used to evaluate the downscaling data of the CanESM2 model under different RCP scenarios and finally modeling for the years 1400 -1429 was done.Result and discussionResults indicate that there is a significant correlation between monthly cumulative hours of temperatures between zero and 7.2 ° C and monthly temperature parameters such as mean minimum temperature, mean maximum temperature and mean monthly temperature, which in the absence of data hourly temperature can be used to model and determine monthly cumulative hours.ConclusionFindings show that the chilling needs of Kalle-Ghuchi, Owhadi and Ahmad- Aghaei species will be met in the coming years and Akbari and Fandoghi species will not be met.

Recent permanent trend of drought in East Azerbaijan province has caused of the reduction in available water resources, a sharp drop in the groundwater levels as well as drying of the Uremia Lake and finally increasing saline lands surrounding the Uremia Lake. Also, the orchards and farm lands which strangely depended on groundwater have been indiscriminately and disproportionately developed related to the current climate condition. Therefore, modification of agricultural patterns is one of the best solutions for efficient water usage in agricultural section and is considered as the only practical solution in relation to the sustainable development of agriculture. This study was conducted in order to determine the suitability for growing pistachio orchards and replacing it with second and third degree gardens. Suitable areas were determined by modeling in ArcGIS software environment based on various affective climate parameters in various stages of plant growth. Results show that about 25 percent of the area is completely suitable, 27 percent is relatively suitable and 48.4 percent is completely unsuitable for pistachio plantation. Also, marginal areas of the Uremia Lake are quite suitable which indicates that the replacement of the orchards of pistachio with high water consuming orchards in the area is fully practical and feasible. The results could provide more reliable basis for agricultural decision-making and planning to provide a new model to replace the pistachio orchards with high water consuming orchards.

rid and semi-arid regions of the world is mainly characterized by lack or little amount of precipitation as well as irregular tempo-spatial distribution of annual rainfall and highly evapotranspiration. On the other hand, recent permanent drought in East Azerbaijan province has led to a reduction in available water resources, a sharp drop in the groundwater levels, Urmia Lake receding and drying and increasing saline lands surrounding the Urmia Lake. Also the orchards and farm lands that seriously depend on groundwater level have been indiscriminately and disproportionately developed related to the climate condition. Therefore, modification of agricultural patterns is the best way to efficient water use in agriculture and is considered as the only practical solution in relation to the sustainable development of agriculture. This study was conducted in order to determine the appropriate area for growing pistachio orchards and replacing it with second and third order of gardens.

This study aimed to identify the geographical features of the pistachio tree planting, cultivation-prone are as in the province and zoning done. For this study, data from 12 synoptic meteorological stations, 5 climatologic and 15 rain gauge stations were used. Zoning of areas protoculture, the technique of GIS in terms of Bolein models and model AHP were used. Accordingly, by the use of software Arc/GIS, maps were sprepared by value. Then the Bolein matrix of each layer of software Idrisi was drawn up in order of significance of each element. The final map was obtained by integrating maps in Arc/GIS. The results indicate that the ranges of northwest and northeast, including two stations of Abbar and Mahneshan, due to geographic conditions have limited cultivation of pistachio trees. Therefore, there is potential for cultivation in these areas. It was found that the AHP model for accuracy and attention to detail, gives better results than the Bolein model.
