Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the factors affecting the vulnerability of brain, nerve and mental patients in the residential environments of Ardabil city.The current research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method. The information required in this survey has been collected through field and documentary methods. The statistical population of the research corresponds to neuropsychiatric patients in Ardabil city. For data analysis, SPSS and GIS software and one-sample T-tests, Pearson correlation and exploratory factor analysis were used to answer the research questions.Spatial distribution of brain, nervous and mental diseases in the worn-out fabric of Ardabil city shows that in the neighborhoods that have worn-out fabric, the accumulation of disease in those areas is more than in other areas, and the impact of housing quality on the mental health of patients Also, based on the Pearson test results, there is a positive and significant correlation between the quality variables of the residential environment and the mental health of neuropsychiatric patients. Also, based on the results of the exploratory factor analysis, the factors that affect the quality of housing on the mental health of neuropsychiatric patients are: the density of housing in the neighborhood, the presence of open and green spaces in the neighborhood, the presence of an independent courtyard, satisfaction with the number of rooms In the residential house as well as the facade components of the buildings, it has had the greatest impact on the mental health of the studied people.Based on the opinions of the respondents, the quality of the residential environment in Ardabil city affects the mental health of patients, so the relationship between housing planning specialists and environmental psychologists should be strengthened in order to control the negative impact of the residential environment on mental health indicators
