Abstract
Objective: The aim of the present study is to investigate the changes in different land uses and evaluate the effects of land use changes on landslides in Namin County.
Methods: . In order to achieve the objectives of this research, first a land use map was prepared using the object-oriented method for the two periods of 2002 and 2024. In the next step, information layers of other effective factors for landslides in the city were prepared in the GIS environment. The evaluation and standardization of the layers were carried out using the fuzzy membership function and weighting of the criteria, using the CRITIC method. The final analysis and modeling was performed using the ARAS multi-criteria algorithm.
Results: .The results of this study showed that the largest area in 2002 was related to poor pastures and rainfed agriculture, with 493.71 and 209.91 square kilometers, respectively, and in 2024, it was related to poor pastures and rainfed pastures with 422.62 and 271.93 square kilometers, respectively. According to the 2002 landslide zoning map, 15.15 and 22.46 percent of the county's area are in the very high and high-risk categories, respectively, and according to the 2024 landslide zoning, 15.92 and 26.04 percent of the county's area are in the very high-risk and high-risk categories, respectively.
Conclusions: .In general, it can be said that the main reasons for the increase in the number of landslides in Namin Shib County are slope, land use change and human intervention through land use change, vegetation destruction, overgrazing, release of irrigation water at the end of agricultural lands, and road construction .
