Providing a Model for the Development of Agricultural Tourism in Hashtjin City

Abstract

Objective: Agricultural tourism can be a suitable tool for creating a balance between the needs of tourists and rural communities, and it offers real opportunities for economic and social development while reducing adverse effects on the environment. By creating a link between urban and rural areas, agricultural tourism provides numerous opportunities for the sustainable and balanced development of regions and can play a significant role in improving the quality of life of local communities and preserving natural and cultural resources.

Methods: The present research method is inductive, and the qualitative approach is based on grounded theory. Participants in the research process include specialists, university professors, and experienced employees in the fields of tourism and agriculture. Purposive sampling was also used, and interviews were conducted with 12 individuals to reach theoretical saturation and completeness. Based on the results, the causal conditions for the development of agricultural tourism in Hashtjin city include: people with a strong culture, changes in the situation and needs of the agricultural sector, and the empowerment and participation of local communities.

Results: The contextual conditions are: the region's potential for investment and planning in agricultural tourism, the necessity of developing infrastructure and facilities, the lack of attention to the existing capabilities of the region, and factors related to agricultural and rural attractions. The intervening conditions are: economic factors, infrastructural weaknesses, and changes in tourists' attitudes and demands. Furthermore, the strategies include: factors related to policymaking and management, and effective marketing and advertising. Finally, the consequences related to the research on the agricultural tourism development model for Hashtjin city include: economic development, socio-cultural development, and environmental development.

Conclusions: The findings indicate that the development of a sustainable and income-generating agricultural industry with natural and cultural resources is achievable in this region.
