Abstract

The geographical location of Ardabil province is between 37 and 45 to 39 and 49 north latitude and 47 degrees and 30 minutes to 48 and 55 east longitude. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the geotourism potentials of Ardabil province for economic development. The study method is descriptive, analytical, and comparative, and in order to evaluate geosites, three evaluation methods of Kobalikova, Hadzik, and Violett geotourism have been used. In Kobalikova's method, the criteria are placed in five groups. It covers almost all the features of geotourism. The value of each criterion in this model varies between zero and one (0-1). In the Violet method, geomorphosites and landforms were selected for study and evaluation based on four criteria: origin of formation, geographical distribution, tourism, and general accessibility of this national park. The overall assessment of geotourism and geomorphosites in this method is based on two main rates. In the Hadzik model, the value and importance of each geotourism site is estimated by the scientific value indices and the surplus values of that geotourism site. A study of the geotourism indicators of the regions shows that the Sarein region, with a score of 14.7 in terms of the Kobalikwa model, has the highest score in terms of scientific and educational value indicators and other indicators studied. The results of the Hadzik model also showed that the Sarein city, with a score of 44.91, has a higher rank than other studied regions in terms of surplus value indicators. The results of the Feyolt model calculations also show that Sarein County has obtained the highest score of 7.51 according to the evaluation of tourist value indicators, followed by Meshginshahr with a score of 7.23 and Hir with a score of 12.6, in second and third place, respectively.
