Abstract

Livability is one of the most recent approaches in urban development that utilizes various indicators and criteria to assess the quality of urban spaces. The proposed indicators are highly dependent on the study area and the evaluator's objectives; thus, various assessment systems exist worldwide. The aim of the present study is to provide a local model for assessing livability in Iranian cities to facilitate the evaluation of the degree of achievement of livability approaches.

In this study, a descriptive-analytic and survey method is applied. In the first step, based on existing studies, a set of indicators for evaluating livability is presented, which will serve as the basis for developing a questionnaire to measure livability. Using this questionnaire, the state of livability in the Niasarm Madi of Isfahan is examined. The statistical sample includes 390 residents living along the Niasarm, determined using Cochran's formula. The data collected from the questionnaire are analyzed using SPSS software and exploratory factor analysis techniques.

According to the results, livability indicators are classified into five groups: quality of access to facilities and services with a cumulative variance of 28.48%, urban quality and environmental capabilities with a cumulative variance of 22.07%, quality of socio-cultural factors with a cumulative variance of 8.06%, quality of walkability and urban infrastructure with a cumulative variance of 7.52%, and quality of economic and managerial factors with a cumulative variance of 5.85%.

Given that enhancing livability in cities is a key issue in management systems, the application of the prioritized factors mentioned will be effective in facilitating the implementation of this approach. In the final section, proposed plans for enhancing the livability of the area, utilizing artificial intelligence tools like Bing Image Creator, are presented. Key recommendations include ensuring accessibility, addressing existing deficiencies, developing pedestrian networks, solving traffic problems, and efficient economic management
