Urban sustainability, as one of the fundamental concepts in urban planning, plays a key role in improving the quality of life of citizens and is directly related to social, economic, physical, cultural and technological dimensions. Therefore, the present study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the sustainability of Behbahan's urban space from the perspective of creative city indicators.
The research type is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method. The data collection tool included library and field studies (questionnaires). The statistical population of the research consisted of citizens of Behbahan city, and based on the Cochran formula, 400 people were selected as the sample size by simple random sampling. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and AMOS software and using statistical tests such as one-sample T, Pearson correlation, and structural equation modeling.
The results of the data showed that the status of Behbahan's urban space is at an undesirable level from the perspective of creative city indicators. In particular, the urban diversity, efficiency and effectiveness, and participation indicators have achieved the lowest average. Also, based on the findings of structural equation modeling, the efficiency and effectiveness index with a factor load of 0.91 and participation with a factor load of 0.74 have had the greatest impact on the sustainability of urban space.
Therefore, the results of this study indicate that weakness in participatory planning, lack of smart communication infrastructure, and lack of attention to socio-cultural needs, etc. are among the factors affecting the decrease in the sustainability of Behbahan's urban spaces. As a result, it is essential for urban managers and planners to adopt comprehensive and sustainable policies in cultural, physical, and managerial dimensions in order to promote the indicators of the creative city in order to move towards the sustainability of Behbahan's urban space.
